I have a Garmin that I rely on for speed and other traffic and road data, since the speedo in my i3 typically reads about 3mph low at highway speeds, and the i3's nav is sadly out of date. Let's hear it for free lifetime map updates!
Sheesh! It's just like having to turn the automatic wipers on every time I get in the car, and the cruise control. In my last car, I just left those functions on when I turned the key off and they came right back on the next time I turned on the (non-electric) car. It's enough to almost make...
I found the "Hold State Of Charge" function in the Settings menu last night, and set it "ON". This morning I checked before driving off, and it was not only turned OFF but now is "grayed out" and won't let me turn it back on. It says "see Owner's Manual for information" but neither the book...
I find it hard to believe the physical key won't unlock the door. I always thought that was its primary function (to allow entry into the car if power has failed). The Owner's Manual includes an explanation of how to access the Frunk area manually, for when the electric frunk release fails.
I appreciate the link to the Amazon-offered OBD plug. I just ordered one with free shipping. As soon as it arrives, I'll pay for the app and go hook it up. I'll report in this space when done. Thanks!
I appreciate the info. I downloaded the BimmerCode app to my phone, and I plan to go out and buy an OBD adaptor today. Then I'll check out YouTube and see what there is to see. Thanks!
How do you implement the "Hold State Of Charge" function? I downloaded the BimmerCode app to my phone, and it says I need an OBD adaptor (which I plan to buy). What else is needed? Thanks in advance!
Now I'm really intrigued. I've been wishing I could figure out how to tell the car to run on the range extender immediately (instead of depleting the battery first before it switches over) since the day I got the car. Any chance you could outline the steps to this process? I'd like to be able...
I truly appreciate your making the effort to locate the accurate process. Knowing to press MENU instead of the nonexistent "Operations" button was the key (along with knowing to ignore the second "Settings"). After I completed the process you described, I was able to delete most (but...
That's good information, and I appreciate your providing it. Now I at least know why I can't connect to their system. If only I could tune the radio manually and set my own presets? I can do that in my 1986 Cadillac, so why not in my 2014 BMW?
In the Owner's Manual provided with my 2014 i3 Rex, I could find no information at all about the stereo. Perhaps you can tell me what page of the Owner's Manual this information is on? In any event, there is no SETTINGS button on my center console, and the OPTIONS button does not offer the...
Thank you for the quick reply, but there is no SETTINGS button in my i3 iDrive, and pressing OPTIONS does not give me the option you mention (Delete Personal Data). So your reply does not help me. Thanks anyway! Anyone else? Or would you like to try again?
My experience of your reply is a...
I'm becoming very frustrated with the stereo in my 2014 i3 Rex. I've only had the car a couple of weeks, but IMHO it shouldn't be this difficult to adjust the stereo. It seems to be the basic system, with no CD or satellite radio capability, and apparently only FM or AUX input. I plugged a...
