Vehicle For Sale 2014 BMW i3 (Giga World) WITH NEW BATTERY & COMPRESSOR

I have a 2014 Rex, I bought it last summer and it came with its original window sticker. A relative stripper, it has only 3 options, and one of them is fast DC charging. So it was definitely available as an option that year.

Hard drive with all of my music

Thanks! I'll check for that. My PC is Win11, so it may format flash drives in 64-bit by default.

Hard drive with all of my music

Can't answer this. The MP3 player I use has a "shuffle play" feature that plays my music in random order so I'm less likely to get bored.

Hard drive with all of my music

In my '14 i3, I plugged a flash drive with 6gb of MP3 files on it into the USB port under the armrest. This port will charge my phone (slowly) but the stereo will not play music from the drive. I had to plug an MP3 player loaded with the same files into the aux jack just above the USB port...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

When I first got my i3, I didn't know about HSOC and several times I drove it until the battery was at zero and it continued to drive on the highway on Rex only with seemingly no problem and no apparent loss of power. I didn't do 90 on that trip, only 75-80, but it definitely kept up with traffic.

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

I think I'll find out today how well the Rex runs the car on the Mass Pike with zero charge. I left home for a 60-mile drive, turned on HSOC right at 74%, and running at 85mph the battery dropped to under 50% by the time I got here, and remaining Rex range was under 20. I'll top off with 2...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

That all makes sense, especially the part about the energy output of the battery vs. the Rex. I can only recount my experience when I say the car seems just as quick (or if not, still plenty quick) on the highway running on the Rex with the battery showing zero for many miles.

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

HSOC is "Hold State Of Charge" which is accessible by using your iDrive. Press the big Menu button, scroll down to Settings, press down on iDrive, scroll to Range Extender, press down on iDrive to see that submenu, and if it's enabled, you'll see a checkbox for HSOC. Even if enabled, it's grayed...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

I think I understand your chart and explanation, but my personal experience is quite different, as I never felt the car losing power and never had any problem keeping up with or passing slower traffic even after an hour on the road or longer on Rex with zero charge showing at the outset. Just my...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

I appreciate your recounting your experience. I may never understand it though, since I don't see how starting a 60-mile drive with the battery already at zero can be anything but a Rex-only drive. Since I've been using HSOC, I've noticed when running on Rex with HSOC engaged at high speeds with...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

Thanks for engaging. To clarify, I did not choose to run the Rex. I just thought that's how this car works. I was not aware of the HSOC feature when I bought the i3 (I learned about it later) and on a day I needed to go 65 miles to get where I was going, I simply drove my car until the battery...

Question on coding Rex to turn on below 75% battery level.

Your explanation makes a lot of sense, but I have a question. When I first got my i3 (before I found out a previous owner had already set up the HSOC function), I drove it far enough several times to run the battery down to zero, and the Rex seemed to work fine with zero charge showing even on...

Unable to set radio stations, tune radio manually, or delete previous owner's stations

I know the buttons can be set for this since a previous owner of my i3 set them up that way. What I can't figure out how to do is delete his choices and save mine in their place.

Unable to set radio stations, tune radio manually, or delete previous owner's stations

I started this thread soon after I got my i3 ('14 Rex), and some of your answers have been priceless solutions for simple things I'd have spent hours figuring out otherwise. But I'm still at a loss for how to program the "left/right" scroll buttons (those to the right of the #8 radio preset) so...

    Range

Mine showed 59 on a fully charged battery and 80 on the Rex when I left the house this morning. We live in CT so hills are not an issue

    Steering not self centering

I have a '14 Rex with about 55k on it. My first EV, I've only had it a couple months so I'm a newbie too. My steering is OK but it came with all-season 19's on oem pizza pie rims and I noticed it was darty and seemed prone to tramlining on the highway. I found a set of 20" wheels with summer...

    Speedometer recalibration?

I misspoke. My i3 speedo reads high not low. On cruise at 81 indicated on my i3 speedo, my Garmin reads 78mph. At lower speeds it still reads high but not as much. At 40mph on the Garmin, the i3 says 42. At 20, the i3 says 21. It's like they want you to think you're going faster than you really...

When not using car for several days?

I own two classic cars and a Harley, so during the summertime my 2014 i3 Rex might sit parked for a few days or longer. Can I leave it plugged in, or is there any chance it could "overcharge" or otherwise be damaged by leaving the 110v charger connected for an extended length of time?

    Speedometer recalibration?

I'm a little disappointed in this. The speedo of my last car, a 2014 CX-5, was spot-on with the Garmin for 3 years. Now with the same Garmin in the i3, on the highway the speedo consistently reads 3mph high. A friend who works on his own cars & owns 4 Mercedes says there's a screwdriver...

    Speedometer recalibration?

The Garmin I have in the i3 was bought new (several years ago), for advanced features such as its built-in dashcam. But in my other vehicles I have Garmins bought for $40 on Craigslist that all have lifetime maps and I will never buy one that doesn't. If you go by the sticker price they're all...
