The original question was 'Is it too much of a stretch to assume most BMW Mini wheels will work?'. There is more to consider than just bolt pattern. The room left inside the rim where the brakes and part of the suspension sits is critical. The rims I choose had literally NO extra space. That...
2015 Performance Blue Focus ST. Absolutely love the car but when gas prices spiked and it took $40 to fill the tank (and I had to fill it twice a week) I really wanted an EV. When the pandemic hit, I started working from home and most of my trips were short / in town. My gas mileage for the...
Hey, I LOVE the way that looks! I've never thought about painting my calipers on any car before, but now I am seriously thinking of doing this. Great look!
Btw, the Yokohama tires(NEW) are about 1/4" - 1/2" shorter than the oem tires(HALF WORN). Two things to note here. 1) this threw my speedometer off by 1 or 2 mph. And 2) I originally had 30mm spacers on the front and the tire touched the back fender wall slightly when turned fully. I then...
I went with 215 on front and 235 on rear to keep as close to the original 'difference' front to back as I could. I have to trust that stability around corners and at higher speeds have been worked out by the engineers. In other words, I believe the fatter tires on the rear give the balance...
I agree with many of the statements here. It has specialty tires. The car eats tires. I would not put cheaper tires on it. Yearly tire buying IS alarming. What I disagree with is that we (i3 owners) should just accept it. I absolutely love my i3s. The ONE thing that BMW messed up is the...
You can find my specs part way down on this post:

So far I have no rubbing issues. The wheels do stick out from the fenders a little so really hard corning may contact the fenders but I'm living with it for now. If it becomes a...
Beautiful car! I've owned my 2019 i3s Rex for a little over a year and I have 29k on it. We almost match exactly! I choose to go for wider rims and all season tires. Just finished that setup so we'll see how the winter treats me very soon.
Hey, I was wondering how many folks have decided to pay for the BMW App Subscription. This seemed to be the place to continue that conversation. Maybe... Thoughts?
I thought I replied to this the other day but maybe it didn't go through. Searching for wheels I found some options when I looked for Mini Cooper Clubman wheels. Maybe 2017 and newer? If I remember right these have the same bolt pattern and hub bore.
The offsets of my new rims are 40mm. I put 25mm spacers on the front and 20mm spacers on the rear.

Here's the post for my whole setup...
Differences I've noticed with the new wheels and tires
------------------------------------------------------
Pros
----
Quieter bumps / less cabin noise
Softer ride overall
Rear jitter gone
softer front/back rocking
car is planted much better
Longer lasting !!!
Looks better !!!
Works in winter...
Wheels are listed in other post. Offset is 40mm. I put 18x7.5 rims on all around. 215s in the rear would not help. The suspension conflict happens just inside the rim. I suppose if I pushed the rims out more there would be less conflict with the suspension but it would have to go too far...
Suspension is standard i3s. No change. I just got my new wheels on a week ago and the weather just went cold so it's really hard for me to say how much efficiency was lost. My guess is not much loss. Any loss is well worth it to me with all the gains I now have.
