Loud noise when the car is turned off

There have been a few threads here questioning the sometimes loud buzzing noise when the car is turned off and often while it's plugged in and charging. As others have replied, it is indeed the A/C compressor for the battery thermal management system. More people are hearing this now because the temperatures are hotter during the summer months. Many new owners are concerned that there is an issue with the car but there is nothing to worry about, it's quite normal. I did a blog post to explain what;s going on with a video I recorded of my car making the compressor noise:
