My windshield is cracked and I want to get it replaced. I've heard that it can be difficult and that having it improperly done can cause leaks and noise while driving. Can anyone recommend a place in Southern California to get this done?

a small chip just exploded into a crack this morning on mine. its almost halfway across the windshield! where did you get your windshield done at and was it pricey? safelite is quoting me $968

Watch this video. It shows the difficulty of removing the A-pillar covers which sit on TOP of the windshield and hides or covers where they have to cut the seal on the sides.

The rubber trim is somewhat forgiving. I removed mine and it was a little wrinkly but settled down after a few days. Of course I ordered a replacement but never installed it. Check the $14.00 rubber piece between the pillar and roof trim. Now is the time to change it if needed. It doesn't really seal, it's just for aesthetics.
