Good news confirmed. I emailed Ecotricity -

Does your recent email statement 'And we’re adding a third standard to the pumps, known as CCS (Combined Charging System) – as used by BMW (the i3) and VW (the eUp and eGolf) “ mean this will be DC rapid chargers or AC fast chargers?

They replied -

Thanks for your recent email regarding our new up and coming CCS chargers.

After speaking with our project manager he has confirmed that the cable which will be for the BMW i3 & the Volkswagen E-Up will be DC.
