Trunk sensor problem

Sometimes, my car thinks its trunk is open when it is closed! This can happen even when when I restart the car after it has been parked and the trunk was not opened since it was last used. I guess this is a sensor problem. What can I do to fix it?

I've never had the problem on my car, but I'm led to believe that the sensor/switch is up at roof level, under one of the hinges. Other people have reported that a minor adjustment there has solved the issue.
