Hi everyone, after reading all these threads I decided the job was way to tricky for myself….then a brainwave….if the issue is indeed the white pin that needs re-greasing or whatever, how’s about a much simpler solution, my wife’s hairdryer!  I applied a nice amount of heat to warm the selector and surround and hey-presto, the gear selector is now back up and running perfectly!  Hopefully it’ll last a while, at least I know what to do if it happens again, phew!
