not really a problem just strange

the brakes work well - err, umm i very rarely use them with the great brake regen system

the dealer is not concerned and neither am i - its a leased car

the front disks look normal

We see this quite a bit on these vehicles in our very wet climate. The vehicle takes into account the amount of regenerative braking in the rear and applies the fronts before applying more force to the rear to compensate. So if you want to clear it up, drive the vehicle with...enthusiasm, if you will ;)

Should not take too long to get them cleaned off. Don't go overkill on it, this is a small vehicle and as such has fairly small brake components. This means that if you are purposely overworking them for an extended period they will heat up beyond what they perform optimally at, which can lead to warpage or even hardening.
