Started the i3 apparently with the key fob in my wife’s purse. Dropped my wife off (with her purse) and I did not realize I did not have my key fob until I was several miles away and had turned the car off. No warning from the i3 on the fact that the car was traveling with no key. Pressed the SOS button and was told they could not remote start the vehicle. Why didn't the i3 warn me?

It seems to be tied into opening the driver's door. If there's no fob in the car when that happens, the car will go into park and not come out. It will then alert you, nor, will it let you start it up again.

This issue is bound to happen, once in while to anyone. Its not a unthinkable scenario.
Also the who idea to remote unlock the car , but not drive it , is just a half baked cake.
A marketing check box feature , against the competitor remote app, with little actual usability features. Its also a revenue stream.
I got stuck too , and cursed them , in my unlocked un-derivable car with app.

Why ?. You are like me. You expect appropriate software on top of hardware. Car companies do not think like that.
