Well, that was 25 minutes of my life that I will never recover.
I clicked the link on the above message on my computer, filled in the requested detail only to discover that your website assumed I was doing this on my phone - as I was instructed to download the app.
Went to my iPhone, repeated the process, downloaded TestFlight and then the app, filled in all the details only for the app to tell me that my i3 Rex isn't an electric car.

@James:- I think you're rather missing a distinction here. The i3 rex may have a built in generator, but it is no way part of the 'drive train' it exists solely to generate power to the battery. The cars drivetrain is pure electric, this is not the same as a PHEV.

I don't understand what you don't understand about the restriction. If the app is using range as an indicator for battery health and you augment the range with the REX... If you if you used the app and got inaccurate results then you'd be rightfully pissed! Secondly, in the first sentence it is clearly described as a mobile app. "beta test our revolutionary mobile app". WOW!

@rcpmac there is no need for the hostile tone. The REX doesn't fit cleanly into many preconceptions of PHEV / BEV and we can't expect any non i3 owner to understand the nuances of how this drivetrain works. If the person from ClearWatt had taken the time to understand our particular car (or, for that matter, had their business signed up any i3 owners prior to them posting) they should have been well aware of our REX situation and addressed it specifically in their post.

To add to that ClearWatt's post is essentially spam on this forum, they dumped this same post on a dozen other EV forums on the same day and in our case they haven't logged back on to this site since the day of their posting.

It's clear from their website they are trying to get a business going and we have to take that for what it's worth. Until somebody feels like digging deeper into it or joining we can only guess how they plan to go about evaluating battery health. Until then, this isn't a battery study like with previous posts of this nature, it's a car sales site.

No need to get so excited over spam.

That last sentence gets you - no plug in hybrids.
