Maximum charging amps

I have the BMW level 2 charger at home. I was thinking about buying a more powerful charger for my 14 i3 for my work location, but from reading posts, it seems like 30 amps is the highest charge rate that the i3 will take. Is that true?

In the current model year, yes 30A (the way the USA rates them, 32A peak, the way they do in Europe). Now, you won't hurt the car if you have one that can provide more, but the wiring, circuit breaker, and unit will cost more from the same vendor. Some are opting for a larger unit for their 'next' car, which MIGHT have a larger on-board charging capability.
