BMW advertise the i3 as having a liquid cooled battery for the BEV, another advantage over the air cooled system in the Leaf. Yet I can’t see any evidence of liquid cooling system components in the few images I have of the battery pack, so I’m curious as to how it works.
Is there some form of heat exchanger if so where is it in the car?
How and where is the liquid circulated through the pack and beyond the pack?
What coolant is used?
How is it thermostatically regulated?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks JTM
