iPhone and 12V Socket

The manual indicates that the 12V Sockets should not be used for "battery chargers," citing potential damage to the vehicle's battery due to increased power consumption. Any thoughts as to whether this would apply to plugging in an iPhone via a standard 12V to lightning cable?

No, your iPhone is safe to use in the 12V socket.

Can any of the three in car sockets be used for tyre inflation within the limits stated in the handbook? The handbook is pretty vague on the subject.

IF I remember, the two accessory sockets have a pretty small fuse...I'd limit the compressor use to the cigarette lighter one which has a bigger rated fuse.

Thanks. The I3 is my 4th BMW and the manuals are as confusing as ever.
 
It would be easier if the fuse panel layout was in the manual, but it's not hard to open, and the fuse layout is there, along with their sizes, on a folded piece of cardboard.

I read this and thought it meant those jump starters you plug in to the cigarette lighter when the car's battery has died:
