I had a minor bump in my wife’s i3, hit a bollard outside some shops, the bumper cracked and the wing cracked. Seems the car body shell is made of plastic. Because I’m a named driver on my wife’s insurance, she now has to declare a claim that has doubled her insurance. So I thought I would insure the i3 in my name, stating I had had an accident in the last 5 years, quote comes back £3400. Double wamy wife’s insurance doubled, any car I now insure, because of accident, although no claim to my insurance company, sky high premium. It seems like insurance companies are starting a conglomerate, all working together to squeeze the maximum of money from drivers.Because insurance is a legal requirement, they have us over a barrel.
