I do not know what causes it, and it does not seem to happen to everyone, at least very often, but if you have exhausted all efforts to get your car to talk to the iRemote servers, some people have found this to be a nearly instant 'fix'.

History...at one point, for nearly 2-weeks, after multiple account resets and forcing data updates, I still could not 'talk' to the car, and the odometer reading stayed constant and it always said it was plugged into the EVSE. I took the car to the dealer's, and the service manager removed the rear seat cushion, unplugged the Telemetrics module, and plugged it back in, and the car instantly started to send current data to the server, and it has worked for about 2-months without issues (except, where it is parked the signal is sometimes spotty, but that's not the car's fault). Instead of removing and replacing the plug (keep in mind that some of those are only designed for single digit insertion/removal cycles) and risking breaking or bending something, plus threading the seat belt anchors in place so you can replace the seat can be a pain, I got the information on which fuse controls that module. Removing that still isn't super simple, but easier, and is something that is designed to be done more often (shouldn't happen, but still).

So, if you get into that situation, and the iConcierge hasn't been able to resolve your issue (and it's not a know server issue), at your own risk, consider just pulling fuse F115 out, then reinserting it. The dealer can do it for you, but if you want to save a trip...It's located in the lower-right-hand side of the fuse panel, the last one on the right of the second from the bottom row of fuses.

Thanks for this information. It helped me get my car talking to the BMW Connected Drive server after it was offline for the best part of a week. Pulling the fuse is easy and does not require any tools.
