Tesla just recently broke ground on 2,100 acres just east of Austin, TX to build a plant to build their new stainless steel electric pickup truck. They broke ground within days of announcing their choice of plant site. They intend to hire something like 5,000 workers locally. This should be a big boost to Austin and also to Bastrop County to the east where folks could commute without Austin traffic.
