dashboard reflection on windshield

The speckled composite recycled material BMW uses on top of the dashboard frequently reflects on the inside. My view frequently looks like my windshield is dirty with water spots. It ceratinly doesn't obstruct my view, but it is distracting, and annoying. Has anyone tried covering this material with a flat, or semi flat finish. Charcol Grey, black, etc.

Excellent question. I dig that they used recycled material, but yeah, the light flecks really cause reflection issues in the sun. I haven't seen any cover for that area of the dash yet. Anyone?

I’ve thought about painting it with a flat, or semi gloss paint
