Hi,

I'm considering buying a used i3 from a BMW i dealer. The car is late 2013.

When I drove the car it was showing a range of 100km, apparently fully charged. I'm eager to find what the current state of the battery is. Is there a way for the dealer to show the current capacity of the battery in KWh so I can understand degradation as presumably the shown km is dependent on temperature (cold, just above freezing) and the recent way the car has been driven. If so what exactly do I ask them to do?

Anything else I should be checking on these early cars?

The car is a non-range extender model.

There is a service menu that can be accessed that will show the current battery capacity. The procedure is here on the forum...don't remember it exactly right now or I'd post it...use search. The service manager should be able to show you the actual value in the car.
