Want to buy Rims and/or Winter Tires

Yes, it should fit. On the link below it says it will not fit my vehicle... BUT... this probably because of the original tire size for the rear... below that in the specifications section it says these tires will fit from 4"-5-1/2" wide wheel...

steering Wheel became Hard to turn

I just had this happen and filed a complaint with the traffic safety administration as suggested by others. Hopefully, if enough people complain, it will be looked into. I also sent an email to the dealership asking them to register my complaint in case it happens again.

2017 94 Ah CPO: 98 miles range displayed w/ full charge?

Sounds like you need an extended test drive to reset the guese-o-meter.

2017 94 Ah CPO: 98 miles range displayed w/ full charge?

Make sure the 2017 actually has the larger capacity battery. I think some of them did not ?

(Questions) Planning a Los Angeles to Bryce Canyon Road Trip in the 2015 i3 REX

There is also a new function available on plugshare if you have a laptop or desk top. It will not work on a cell phone. It is called trip planner. Works pretty well and it can show the elevations and time between stations you select. Very helpful, especially the elevation information.

(Questions) Planning a Los Angeles to Bryce Canyon Road Trip in the 2015 i3 REX

Use plugshare. Google street view is generally a few years behind. On plugshare, the comments for individual stations will help you decide how reliable they are. If it says Tesla J-1172, it means both are available. Teslas, unlike others, carry adapters for all other charging connectors...

Drove my 2017 BEV ~400 miles on Saturday

Yep, I would go with the lighter weight and quicker acceleration in a heartbeat if it fit our situation. The difference in acceleration is noticeable.

    I finally got my i3!!!

Congratulations! After over two years of driving an i3, I am still thrilled with it.

Drove my 2017 BEV ~400 miles on Saturday

Thanks for your story! Takes a certain amount of faith in the infrastructure to do what you did. We just circumnavigated the beautiful Olympic peninsula in Washington state in our 2015 REX doing a bunch of extra driving around hunting for yard sales, garages sales, and the like. We did it in...

GOM for Range Extender should not decrease

The REX cannot do anything but supply electricity to the battery. It is the battery that supplies the range and also slowly loses efficiency over time, so the REX should show a diminished range as the battery gets less efficient. If the REX drove the wheels you would be correct, but it does not.

    Charge Percentage

If you are at 100% and start going down hill, you have used no appreciable percentage of the battery before braking is required.

    Charge Percentage

You can hear the brake pads contacting the rotors automatically to slow the car if you let off the accelerator with a 100% charge.

    Question about max. charging power/current

Your car does not have the DC fast charging option. I would not assume that your level 2 charging is limited just because of that. Two different things. I bet you can charge at ~32 amps or ~7.7 kw, if you are seeing faster charging rates while charging away from home. At 24 amps and the...

    Question about max. charging power/current

With a level 2 240 volt charger, the maximum is just under 32 amps.... 7.7 kw. You will need a dedicated 40 amp circuit. I have used the Clipper Creek 32 amp evse for two years now... works every time, and I share it with the public on plugshare.

My BMW i3 Saved My Life

Glad you are OK. That flashing advertisement on the other side of the highway in your video is incredibly obnoxious. Amazing that crap is legal.

Installation of an auxiliary heater to improve electric range

The old air-cooled VWs used gas powered auxiliary heaters like that.... it was an option. A friend had it in his VW Thing and it worked extremely well. I think of my Rex as a gas heater... as the need for heat on our 65~mile round trips for groceries etc is main reason I have one. The...

    2015 i3 REX in Tucson

If your commute is only 20 miles and you have other cars, it might be a good idea to get an i3 that is a BEV (electric only). They are slightly more reliable, less costly, noticeably quicker off the line, and they weigh less. There is no need for a Rex for such short trips. I have had both...

    i3 with 57kWh battery

There is a youtube video (somewhere) of a guy who has a workaround of some sort for rebuilding Teslas after wrecks. Very clever dude. Edit: Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuAMczraBIM

Why here AND Facebook? Divided we fall

The lack of an easy way to upload pictures on this forum is probably a major reason the facebook group is a strong option.
