Passive air flow in passenger compartment

As stated in the other thread you started, this isn't a "design fail" - it's a design choice they made that you disagree with. If outside air was always allowed in, then in colder temps the car's range would be affected due to the need to use the heater to offset the cold air entering the cabin...

    Top speed limiter removal?

    How did you accomplish this?

Key Fob replacement- any lower cost option?

Other than shopping around to multiple dealers...no. Some dealers will sell them for around $200.

i3 REX Airflow in Passenger Compartment

In the Leaf, some outside air always entered through the floor vents. There wasn't a way to close them.

i3 REX Airflow in Passenger Compartment

I actually prefer the i3 setup. Cold air entering the cabin in our Leaf resulted in more use of the heater (and therefore more energy consumption) than would've been required otherwise.

Picking up a demo rex tomorrow

FWIW, most dealers that would have an i3 sitting on the lot for that long are not the best source of info for EV-related info. The dealers that are well versed in the EV-specific aspects of buying are much more effective at moving the cars. With that said, there's a good chance that specific...

Picking up a demo rex tomorrow

No, that's not the case. It's common for dealers, due to incentives at the time, to mark a car as "in-service" despite it not being put into service as a loaner/demo/etc. That's why you'll find cars with 6 miles on them, despite having an in-service date that's months or even a year or more...

Picking up a demo rex tomorrow

The in-service date has nothing to do with the federal tax credit.

    Software update / Mileage improvement

If you didn't already have the March 2015 or newer software, then yes, you can expect a few extra miles of range with the November update. From the March software forward, BMW have made more of the battery's capacity available for use.

Anyone seeing good deals on end of year i3s (esp BEVs)?

I hope you're right, but at that price, I'm skeptical that the dealer or BMWFS didn't already claim the credit. Did they confirm in writing that it's fully eligible for the $7500 credit? So your effective purchase price, after state and federal credits, is around $17K?

Is the $29K price before or after the $7500 federal?

    Frunk bags?

The BMW bag closes by folding over the top of it and securing with a velcro strap. I've tried two different bags, and previously provided more detail here: http://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=22017#p22017

When was padded palm rest removed?

To answer your question, the change was made around Feb/Mar 2015 production. Very early 2015 models still had it.

    New steering wheel needed

Sorry, not trying to be patronising, but unless your car had a steering issue, or problem with tire pressures, it wouldn't make sense to describe the steering as dangerous. I'm glad to hear that you're happier with it now, though.

Maybe they just adjusted the tire pressure.

How many miles until first tyre change?

The i3 isn't FWD, it's RWD. Based on the FB group posts, the average for the 19" all season (EP600) tires seems to be 20-25K for the rears, and 35-40K for the fronts (although not many people have needed to replace fronts yet). The 20" (EP500) summer tires average closer to 15K for the rears...

4 Speakers, only in front doors, seriously?

Just spend the money you "saved" to upgrade the current speakers - there are some well-documented upgrades both here and on the Facebook group that will likely surpass the quality of the HK upgrade.
