Amazon battery source for i3 12v battery

I am in the UK and, from personal experience, I really do recommend replacing the 12v battery after 3 years - 4 at the most.

    Experiences on long trips ?

Great news, as I already have a Chargemap card and have signed up for a Tesla account. I will also carry a 10l 'jerry' can of petrol in my frunk. I also have taken the Bip&Go telepass card from my Mercedes and installed it on the windshield of my i3. I will report back how well the trip goes...

    Experiences on long trips ?

The only problem I can forsee is that I am going to have to use a variety of service providers along the route - Energie-Vianeo, Powerdot, Electra, Tesla and Ionity. Do I need to sign up for all of these apps, or is there a universal app which will enable me to use any charger in Europe?

    Experiences on long trips ?

I am planning to drive from North London to Cognac in my 2017 REX, APBP shows that it will probably take around 2 hours longer than when I have done it in my Mercedes E class. Looking forward to it, in a perverse kind of way. I was wondering if anyone has done this kind of 550 mile trip and how...

    Wiring parking mode Dash Cam

I have the BMW Advanced Eye 3.0 dash cam fitted during my last service and it works well, if the car is in use or parked. The associated app is pretty good too.

    Just coming to the party

Looks like your REX was first licensed after April 1 2017, my REX was first licensed in Feb 17 and has free road tax. At least until next year when even electric cars will have to start paying, I believe. This might make it a little clearer.

    just jumped straight in

I live in north London and the i3 is the only car I have owned which is fun to drive in London, enjoy yours.

what EVs lead the pack as replacements/alternatives to the i3?

I can't think of anything which comes near the usability that the i3 currently provides. I plan to keep mine until my annual costs are more than 25% of the car's value; at which point I will trade it in for the youngest, lowest mileage i3 that I can then find.

My Black Beauty, i3 94Ahr Rex

Also have a 66 plate 2017 Rex and am very interested in learning what is involved in changing the lights from tungsten to LED.

    Why BMW Dealers so greedy?

I write about the luxury industry and wristwatches in particular. The CEO of the largest chain of Rolex dealers in the UK once told me that he prefers selling used Rolex watches to new ones. With a new watch, Rolex control his margins, they tell him how much window space the brand must have...

    Rex & UK Road Tax

Thank Goodness that Mr. Porter was registered in March 17, as it had a list price WELL in excess of £40k

myBMW App Works, But Not Showing Charge / Charging Status...

I experienced the same problem, 48 hours after updating the app. The app showed me 6 miles away from my true location and didn't acknowledge that the car was on charge. Tried the usual stuff, turned my phone off and on, disconnected car, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, all to no avail Went...

    E brake

The reference to 'plates' is uniquely British, over here the identifying number on new car licence plates changes every 6 months, so saying a car is a 71 plate immediately tells us that it's a 2021 car from September 2021 onwards.

Maintenance for BMW i3-future BMW video series by Wisely Automotive in the UK

Arthur was standing in front of my car, instantly recognisable by the white mirrors and the pinstripe. It was with them for the REX sensor to be replaced, they did it perfectly and charged around 40% of the price my BMW dealer quoted.

    New EV Battery Health App

Well, that was 25 minutes of my life that I will never recover. I clicked the link on the above message on my computer, filled in the requested detail only to discover that your website assumed I was doing this on my phone - as I was instructed to download the app. Went to my iPhone, repeated...

    Engine management light illuminated constantly

The BMW dealer gave me a quote of around £3,000 to drop the engine and replace the sensor; I called Wisely (who sold me the car 3 years ago) and they did the job for less than half of what the BMW folks wanted.

New (to me) 2016 i3Rex owner

How different from my experience in London, there are 4 or 5 on my street, in fact my next door neighbour has an almost identical car to mine. They are so common in London that last month I tried to open the wrong car because it looked identical to mine and was parked only three cars away from...

    Highest Mileage i3/REX?

Safer to assume he is in the real Birmingham, as he mentions BMW UK in his post.

    My introduction

Never trust anyone - man or woman - who claims to have ALL the answers. However, between everyone here, we each have sufficient specialised knowledge to be able to answer most of your queries; if it's of any use I can assist with the Swiss watch industry, the Albigensian Crusade and independent...

    CarPlay option not appearing

I have never had to unplug mine and it has been to BMW on three occasions.
