Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

I will report back in March on my efforts to renew the services. According to the previous post and the BMW Real OEM Parts website, a 4g telematics module was standard equipment in all i3 models produced after 6/2016 (i.e., starting with the 2017 model year).

Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

Based on a prior discussion thread on this forum, I think the 4G telematics module might have been installed on 2017 models even though the ConnectedDrive service currently utilizes a 3G connection. In any event, I should know something definitive next month when I attempt to renew the services...

Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

I will report back when I try to renew the services for my 2017 i3 Rex in March.

Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

Alohart, Are the services currently active in your car and you are trying to renew the services before they expire or were they already expired? The same services for my 2017 i3 Rex are set to expire in April, and the BMW Connected Drive website says that I will be able to renew all/any of the...

    BMW TeleService Battery Guard

While reading some online articles about BMW's remote services, I noticed a service called BMW TeleService Battery Guard for the 12 volt batteries of BMW vehicles. BMW's Connected Drive website describes the service as follows: TeleService Battery Guard continually checks the battery charge...

BMW Connected drive 3G to 4G?

I agree with all points made by Richs. My hope is that having a 4g module already installed (if that is true) on my vehicle might make my i3's transition on ConnectedDrive from 3G to 4G easier (and less costly) when ATT's 3G network is shut down a little over a year from now.

BMW Connected drive 3G to 4G?

I am hoping Art is correct about this. I purchased a CPO 2017 i3 Rex (manufactured in November 2016) to replace my 2016 i3 Rex about a year ago, and the ConnectedDrive connection for my 2017 is much more stable and quick when I use the App to communicate with the vehicle. I had many...

Where to find Level 2 home charger ratings/reviews?

There are two fairly informative online articles reviewing EV chargers that I uncovered: https://www.autoguide.com/top-10-best-home-ev-chargers And Tom Moloughney wrote a good article on the subject back in 2018...

    Question about tire choice

Hello, I just read some older posts by i3 owners who installed 175/55r20 Ecopia 500 tires on the front 20x5 wheels and 195/50r20 tires on the rear 20x5.5 wheels with no spacers on any wheel. I wanted to know who has tried that combination without spacers and how well that worked out? Thanks for...

Screen Protector for i3 Infotainment Display

Has anyone purchased a screen protector for their i3's infotainment display? If so, I would be interested in knowing what brand you purchased and where you purchased it. I own 2017 i3 with the technology package that includes the larger screen. Thanks.

How often long should I run Rex?

My recent experience with my new (to me) 2017 CPO i3 Rex has convinced me to continue regular use of the Rex (with the hold state of charge function) like I did with my 2016 Rex. The vehicle history information I received for my 2017 was that the prior owner almost never used the Rex and may...

How is your battery holding up?

The current Batt. Kapa. Max reading on my 2017 i3 (with 24k miles) is also 29.5 KWh.

    Odd coding problem

The fuel tank limitation was eliminated in the 2017 model year as the car received a larger battery with extended EV range.

Remarkable end-of-lease buyout offers from BMWFS

I can affirm this. Last weekend, I purchased from a BMW dealer an end of lease CPO fully loaded 2017 i3 Rex with 22,000 miles for under $20k. Also, BMWFS was offering very attractive financing rates up to 72 months.

    Tinting the i3's Sunroof Glass

In my 2016 i3, I had Suntek CXP installed on all glass, and the film's heat dissipation/reflection properties were very noticeable inside the car on sunny days. I think I am going to go with CXP again.

(Review) RGM Rearguard vs. tailgate scratches...

When I ordered one last year directly from the manufacturer, the product was shipped from the U.K in a long, narrow cardbox shipping box and was not folded.

    Tinting the i3's Sunroof Glass

Thanks for the information. I am planning to have all exterior glass tinted including the windshield and sunroof. I had window tinting installed on my first i3 (2016 Rex)) with very good results, but that car did not have a sunroof. I am noticing a lot of thermal energy coming through the...

    Tinting the i3's Sunroof Glass

Hello. Has anyone installed window tinting on the entire sunroof glass of an i3? I am not sure if it is possible. If it is, I presume the sunroof setup in the i3 with the central pillar would make it difficult to do. Thanks for the information.
