    i3 Hate

Just adding on to my prior post, the Chrysler Corporation has made some excellent vehicles and some dreadful ones – the Dodge Caliber is, in particular, one of the worst vehicles I've ever driven.

    i3 Hate

gt1 – You are a brave person and I love your candor! It's so easy to hate on Chrysler because their product has been stymied by 20+ years of re-orgs (thanks DaimlerChrysler, Fiat Chrysler, and Stellantis). I hope Chrysler survives as a viable alternative to Ford & GM.

    Sound proofing the motor sound?

Can you contact your selling dealer and make them aware that they sold you an incomplete product?

Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

Hello appie – I re-read my message and my math was wrong! Let's say it was time to depart the family destination for home and you had a completely empty battery (because of no outlet there for the granny charger)... from what I understand about the REx (I've only owned BEVs) a full tank is...

    i3 Hate

I have three friends that are Tesla owners and they're completely level-headed about their cars' shortcomings. Granted, two of them have been driving electrics since the original Mini E back in 2009 and since then have driven and owned hydrogen fuel-cell cars and multiple i3s so they're...

    Sound proofing the motor sound?

SuperPoly – I mentioned Dynamat earlier in the thread, they make an excellent product https://www.dynamat.com/applications-industries/automotive-and-transportation/ Consider lifting out the trunk liner and covering the cargo floor with one of their roll products. Before you tack it down...

    Sound proofing the motor sound?

SuperPoly – From your most recent post it sounds like you ended up purchasing an i3 – congratulations! To help us diagnose your noise concern, what year and powertrain is your i3?

    Installed dual Hella horns

Yes, the first press of the horn button does seem to sound at the bottom of the button's travel. However, for the following four horn button presses, the horn does not sound until AFTER the horn button is released and has returned to its resting position. Watch the clip at a playback speed of...

Car unstable, jerking left and right, swerves

125mph – As a CPO owner, you've bought into the BMW family directly (as opposed to someone that's acquired their BMW through a private sale). If you're still under your CPO warranty (basic or extended) I would think that you'd be covered for such a suspension failure. If your warranty...

    No audio from speakers

hemptruckEV42 – Regardless of whether it's lead-acid or Li-ion, your new 12V battery must be fully charged before installation. Swapping out a dead OEM lead-acid battery for a Li-ion battery that's been sitting in retailer's stock for the past 18 months is very likely going to perpetuate the...

To I3 REx or not to I3 REx?

appie... Regarding a), Overall, I agree with this. Since 2014 my daily driver has been an i3 BEV and the drivetrain has been 100% reliable (knock on wood). That said, a 2x REx-owing friend has had to deal with flatbed tows due to drivetrain errors with their original 2014 REx and their new...

Car unstable, jerking left and right, swerves

125mph – If you're the original owner of your 2017, I'd ask your dealer if BMW NA will extend "goodwill" warranty coverage. Thank you for sharing your results!

Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

cksky – Congratulations on all of your firsts, that's a major jump to make in a single step! Some thoughts, in order... "most I've ever paid for a car" BMWs are not cheap. In particular, the i3 and i8, with their extensive carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) chassis cost BMW AG billions...

Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

appie – A 2015 REx should be nearing the end of its battery warranty. You might want to consider checking its Kappa value (a rough estimate of the pack's usable capacity): https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17422 Regarding your 130-mile (210km) family journey, a 2015 REx with its...

$5,000 HV Battery Repair Not Covered by Warranties

n1o2c3a4c5h6e7t – First off, I will say that I'm sorry to hear about the runaround that's been dumped upon you. BMWs are sold as premium products and it sounds like you're receiving substandard service. Some suggestions... – Compare ratings of your current dealer versus other local BMW...
