What option should I look for to insure that emergency braking is installed?

Per the below, 544 simply means automatic cruise control. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1328181 which makes me wonder if one should have the ACC option (Tech package) to get emergency braking.

What option should I look for to insure that emergency braking is installed?

Just FYI, I have seen some i3's that have the wider center screen but without ACC (Tech Package). IOW, these i3's don't have the increase/decrease distance buttons on the left side of the steering wheel controls. Do I understand correctly that Emergency Braking as described above is different...

Well that was not fun . . .

I am seriously looking at 2014/2015 models but still am nervous about the mount issue. Has anyone gotten the mounts replaced preemptively? If so, what was the cost. If it's not more than $1000, I might figure that into the cost of a 2014/2015 and get it done. Thanks in advance.

    New Owner Charging Questions

Although I am not the OP, I found the responses to be very informative. Thanks.

    Remove/disable charging plug lock?

This is scary. Isn't there an emergency unlock lever or something. What would one to do if it happened at a public charging place while on the road?

    Question on coolant, TPMS

Thanks for the info. Changing transmission oil seems like a pretty complex process which makes me wonder if it's lifetime. Is the coolant lifetime as well?

    Question on coolant, TPMS

Bumping up since this seems to have been submerged in recent spam.

    Question on coolant, TPMS

Hi All, For those that use a separate winter wheel set, is the i3 capable of storing 8 TPMS (Summer/AS + Winter) or do they need to be reset everytime the wheels are swapped? Also, does the i3 have coolant for any inverters and such and if so is there a change interval. How about any...

Well that was not fun . . .

Thanks, Art and Jim. If I understand realoem right, it looks like the new mount became standard from 11/28/2015? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?id=1Z43-USA-06-2014-I01-BMW_i-i3_60Ah_Rex&mg=22&sg=05&diagId=22_0203&q=22116878935

Well that was not fun . . .

Thanks. Does anyone know if the improved mount became a standard with 2016 or 2017 and later models? I see Bob had the repair done in Dec 2016.

Well that was not fun . . .

Bob, I am considering a 2014. I would be grateful if you can post pictures of what these new U shaped shoulders look like from the top and where they are located, if the tray under the boot cover is opened. I would like to make sure this fortifying fix is already in place in an out-of-warranty...

Ways to fix chip in quarter panel

Hi All, I am currently considering an i3 that has a chip in the quarter panel. Since it's a CFRP panel, I am wondering what different ways exist in terms of a repair and whether BMW sells filler/touchup for things like this. Thanks in advance.

    BEV vs REX

Thanks. Can the TPMS be programmed into the car by the user? Also, is it a onetime thing (i.e., can the system store 8 TPMS codes) or performed everytime the wheels are swapped?

    BEV vs REX

Thanks all for your responses. Are there any coolants (such as for the inverter and the REx) involved and if so, any change intervals for those? Thanks in advance.

    Real World Highway Range

It's also possible the current owner has already coded for Hold SOC.

    Real World Highway Range

Is it a 60Ah or 94Ah model battery? If the latter, perhaps you can make it all the way home without an intervening charge? I would follow Bob Wilson (bwilson4web on this forum) in coding for the Hold SOC option, and hold SOC at 75%, so if the charger on the way isn't functional, you still would...
