    REX little mistery

Are you saying the current problem is a dead 12V battery?

Updated maps to 2018-1, no FSC code needed

I just updated my recently leased 2017 REx to the latest maps and surprisingly was not asked for an FSC code. Not that I’m complaining! So as a tip to others looking to update, try downloading the map files first and just plug in the flash drive and see if it works. Don’t spend time...

    Aftermarket Head Unit?

First, I understand you are referring to In-car Entertainment System, but around here ICE means Internal Combustion Engine 99.9% of the time. ;) Second, my guess is it's nearly impossible to replace the head unit. Where would you even put it considering the i3 has a floating display? Third...

Test drove the i3S ! Wow

Good to hear it's noticeably better. I have yet to drive one myself, but then I just leased a 2017 for a steal so I'm not too keen on finding out what I'm missing. :D If I did a lot of highway driving I would be VERY tempted by the Autopilot in the Model 3. I love that both cars are RWD though.

    Carseats and the back seat

Tip for sipabit: Photobucket is blocking your picture. Try a more modern site like imgur instead that doesn't have those silly rules. ;) My experience with car seats is: 1. Infant seats are relatively easy other than the door dance if you are closely parked next to another car on that side...

    Leasing a 2018 i3 Sport (BEV)

Go to leasehackr.com and check the i3 lease deals there. I'm in Wisconsin and just leased a $53k MSRP 2017 REx for $200.99/mo and only $670 in drive off fees. Can't even get a Leaf or Bolt for that! 8-) This was a retired service loaner with 3,300 miles on it, but still, there are so many...

Has anyone retrofitted their 6.6" nav screen to the bigger 8.8" screen?

There are plenty of i3s in the Bay Area. Why not just find the one that has the options you want? It's also likely to cost you less in both time and money.

LOTS of issues w/ '14 REX

Finding the right battery won't be enough if you need a special BMW diagnostic tool to "register" it with the car's computer, as mentioned above.

    navigation system options

IMHO the big screen should have always been standard for the price, but I guess it's even more true now considering the competition.

Anybody have an brake-related accident in an i3?

The brakes on my 2014 REx were excellent of the 2 years I had it--Same quality as my last BMW. Absolutely no worries whatsoever. My 2016 and 2017 Chevys on the other hand... :?

    Completed, used BMW i3-REx prices

You are upset about the lease termination fee you agreed to pay at the end of the lease in the original contract you signed? Ok... BTW that fee exists for all leases from any manufacturer.

Can you plug an iPhone into a BMW i3?

Which iPhone model and are you using an Apple OEM lightning cable? Make sure you try that first. I had no issues charging my 6S with Apple original Lightning cable on the USB port in the console.

    2014 BEV to 2017 BEV

Good write-up! I had a 2014 Tera until this month and can comment on these: These LED strips were there on my Tera. I believe the Mega did not have them, and not sure on the Giga. This has always been the case for the i3. I'd guess your dealer forgot them on your 2014.

    Milwaukee owners?

I was an i3 owner in Milwaukee for the last 2 years but just turned the car in on June 6. I miss it... :( Anyway, you'll find WI is extremely lacking in CCS chargers vs CA. I think we are up to 6 plugs (not locations, plugs!) in the entire state. That said, a years ago there was ONE, so it is...

Can a Nissan dealer service an i3? (no BMW EV service shops on my island)

Do not import an i3 without BMW dealer support. You've been warned! ;)

    Map update and Hold charge

I used bmwfsc.ca for a lifetime FSC code. I've used this to update my maps 4 times now and only paid $50 once! I've also gotten fast support over email two of those times. If you are the hacker type there's also a way to generate the FSC code yourself for free, but it's a bit involved. I think...

I wonder how Tesla 3 Buyers will react to losing tax credit

Emphasis mine. They actually already have several things no one else offers, so my guesss is it won't be a tough sell in the least. Autopilot Well placed Supercharger network 3x faster charging speed than any other EV OTA updates with completely new features, not just fixes Summon All-glass...

Lease Transfer on a fully loaded 2015 i3 REX Tera for $229 a month for 13 months

I'd also be interested in this... Let me know.

Getting a I3 as main car?

I think an i3 would be a difficult only car for a family of 3. I also have a family of 3, but we have an ICE sedan besides the i3 that we can use.

How to get the Fast charge unlock card for a used i3 ?

I highly doubt the ChargeNow card is transferable between owners.
