    WiFi OBD operation?

It's not exactly what you're asking, since this is a WiFi OBD topic, but if you subscribe to the online services (or whatever it's called as I type this) then you might want to check out the BimmerConnected project. It's a plugin for HomeAssistant, but the code can be modified and used on its...

Seek Maintenance Advice for 2016 BMW i3 Rex (60k miles, Low Use)

^This thing. Also don't forget to change the blinker fluid every 2 years. ;) JK, about that . . . . . . but serious about checking that old battery before you're stuck somewhere. And keep enjoying your car, of course.

    Just coming to the party

Thanks. These posts have helped me understand what's going on there and the general reasoning for it. If you want ridiculous, in my part of the USA I'm lucky that my REX is considered a plug-in hybrid because the EV penalty is lower than that for a full EV.

    Just coming to the party

Out of curiosity, what circumstances would have resulted in a lower (or higher) tax for you?

Successfully added Traffic Jam Assistant to US model -- interested in other people's experience with TJA

From the attached manual scan: Operating Requirements: . . . > Both hands on the steering wheel. Hmmm. . . One-handed drivers need not apply . . .

remove or reduce dead pedal on I3s

It's what some call the little footrest for your "outboard" foot which otherwise wouldn't be doing anything without a clutch. For me in the US, that'd be my left foot. I have no idea if the concept is implemented oppositely on a right-hand-drive car, I've never been in one.

Dutch i3 february 2014 Stormtrooper edition

I find that very hot temperatures don't (40-45C) don't compromise range all that much -- certainly not like cold temps with the resistive heat (I have a REX). And the comfort climate control is very nice when running errands on hot days.

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

Don't worry about the range; drive on in to get a new battery before you have to walk.

Buying used 2015 i3 all electric - questions on charging, range

I could live without yet another something wanting to solve a solved problem with an "app".

Any experience with updating the GPS maps?

What in particular makes you suggest that there's anything underhanded going on, or that the licenses are not legit? It's a serious accusation . . .

Charging not showing up in myBMW app

Unexpected auto-renewals can be a pain, but BMW's non-notification of lapsing subscription is still kinda odd in the other direction. I know I need to update my sub when my kid notices the RTTI highlights disappear from the streets on the map . . .

Charging not showing up in myBMW app

Definitely try these features so you can brag to your ICE driving friends and family about how cool they are. Or how warm they are if you're bragging in wintertime . . .

    Solar panel on the roof

    I haven't ignored anything, I have a differing opinion.

    Solar panel on the roof

Since the OP still has some electric bill, I'd imagine they sell excess back to the utility rather than storing it at home in their off-grid cabin.

    Solar panel on the roof

IMO the solar panels on the Aptera is more of a marketing gimmick. The claimed output of the solar panels is way higher than could be hoped for, even if it were sunny with a 100% chance noon all day. OTOH, that 700W isn't going to do that much for its range -- that's less than one horsepower in...
