Cruise Control +/- button worn out

As you suspect, it's very simple. Press the bottom of those three to turn on the Cruise function, and then Set - exactly as you say. The Resume feature is not too fierce (unlike some other cars where it seems to stomp on the accelerator!).

    Steering not self centering

I did actually get a chance to check mine a week ago but didn't have the time to post back - my car has hardly any self-centering effect, even though from memory I thought it did. Perhaps that's one reason why I've always thought it felt "odd". But as said, I don't think it's objectionable, on...

Losing faith in the Corporation - not the vehicle

I would guess that it's very very unlikely that BMW will do anything for you - because they won't want to set a precedent for other owners with 10 year old cars! They know that this could open the floodgates for them, so they will resist to the end (IMO).

Cruise Control +/- button worn out

I know you can't (yet) comment on durability, but what does the quality feel like? Nice and flexible, but strong enough to withstand fingernails for years?

    Steering not self centering

I didn't comment on that bit because... I can't remember! I'll be in the car tomorrow, so I'll try to remember to check. I think it must, because every car I've ever driven has - but I have never gone out of my way to check on the i3 specifically.

    Steering not self centering

I think there may be two factors in play here: one is the normal "feel" of the i3's steering - which is definitely unusual around the centre point of the steering travel. It feels as though there is a highly-assisted central area, and then the steering weights up a little on either side. It...

    Car not charging. Just buzzing.

Of course - then the spies from the insurance company who are watching you won't be able to see!

    Car not charging. Just buzzing.

Ah yes, I thought it looked familiar. Not a mod that someone in the UK or Europe could consider, as the insurance companies there would probably not accept a mod like that without voiding insurance cover - but it seems that insurance companies in the US are more understanding!

    Car not charging. Just buzzing.

It certainly sounds as though you have a failure within the convenience charging electronics (KLE), or an associated module. Is your car modified in any way? The fault codes seem to suggest that it may have had some non-standard parts fitted at some point - but I doubt they are related to the...

    Car not charging. Just buzzing.

As EvastonI3 says, the place to start is checking the 12V battery, because it's easy to check and cheap(ish) to replace. Can you say what your surge protector is rated to trip at?

My Black Beauty, i3 94Ahr Rex

Yes, easily - the catch is that you have to drive slowly! There was someone on the UK FB group showing an average of 6.1mi/kwh - his average speed was just 16.1 MPH during the 18 mile journey. There was no trickery involved - he was simply driving as you would normally expect during the day in...

    EME assembly

In the last of your photos you can clearly see cracking in the insulation, both along and across the wire. Overheating of the wire could be a possible cause, but I guess it's also true that the manufacturer may have (inadvertently) bought a bad batch of cable - I have seen Far Eastern made...

Parking Assist not available on the 2020 i3 models

It does seem to vary by territory. My UK-registered 2021 S has S5AT, but has almost none of the options that Art identifies above! My car has ACC, and that's about all - I have never tried pressing "Set" just after a speed limit change, but I doubt mine does that either. I ~think~ that some of...

    Speedometer recalibration?

I've no doubt there's a Unicode character that I could have inserted, but in this situation it's an edge case that isn't likely to be important, so I couldn't be bothered to use the Character Map tool to find it. I should add that the main reason for such a broad "permitted" band is not so much...

    Speedometer recalibration?

Although there are a few exceptions, the main purpose of the speedometer is to prevent you from inadvertently exceeding the speed limit. So any speedo that under-reads your actual speed is not serving that purpose correctly. Hence the regulations on speedo accuracy allow for it to over-read by...

    Charge flap won't open

Have you tried just tapping it - with a simple in/out movement, rather than a push and then release? On mine, it works every single time with just the "tap". I have to admit that I actually booked it in for warranty repair, before reading about it being described as "a tap".

    Speedometer recalibration?

That probably suggests that his Mercedes cars are a few years old! When speedos were mechanical devices, this was possible - easier on some cars than others. Then they changed to pulse-counting and it got a bit harder. When I changed the auto box on my late 80's Jaguar to a manual Getrag box, I...

How Do You Engage Neutral w/Dead 12v Battery

As far as I can recall, BMW don't provide a facility to achieve this. If that recollection is correct you only really have three options - a full lift onto a flatbed (i.e. a cradle under each wheel) or the lack of 12V has to be resolved where it is using a jump-start pack (or of course replacing...

    Charge flap won't open

But... the opposite doesn't work either! Try pushing it in fully, holding and then releasing. On mine, it won't open if you do that (or maybe occasionally). But if I tap it, it opens every time. Perhaps "tap" is not quite the right word, but it's the one that is used in the (UK English) manual.

    Charge flap won't open

I thought that too, but it's not supposed to work that way - you are supposed (according to the Owner's Manual) to "tap" it. If you push it in and then release it (i.e. as a 2-stage operation), it won't work reliably (or not on my 2021 car).
