How much has your electric bill increased?

We added large solar panels on the house in 2011 before we had the i3. The solar panels has saved the cost of installing the panels for years ago, and it costs nothing to run the house and the i3 EV Rarely takes the i3 to charge it anywhere else other than at our own house. So the only cost...

    Air conditioning failed

Alan said the cost of repairing the AC for Total repair estimate was over $21,000 I reckon, if the filter is installed and second parts from a wrecked i3 it would run. Have the filter checked in a few weeks to see if there is parts in the filter. That would keep the i3 running, and keep it...

    Air conditioning failed

Couldn't they add a filter to prevent any remaining metal containments before it runs into the compressor?

    Air conditioning failed

Sure, but the problem is possibly not in the battery pack. i3Alan told us that the system: 1. There was a leak, and the dealer didn't correctly diagnose it. 2. Possibly the service tech overfilled the the refrigerant, or failed to add the lubricant etc that caused the compressor self...

    Air conditioning failed

If the BMW isn't go to cheap replace the problem, would you be able to get the parts from one of previously crashed i3? The second parts should be able from damaged i3's in the US. Would that work?

My BMW i3 Saved My Life

Sorry, don't know what the HOV/Express lane is? Should the I3 owner should have moved to the right side of the car in front of them? Looks like the truck was running fast on the video!

Why here AND Facebook? Divided we fall

Photos work here, but using a different url to send the photos. It costs the owners more if they have a lot of images stored at their site, and we don't have to pay to use this site. Happy Christmas!

    i3 purchase 94rex or 120 bev

Well, decide the distances you use. If the 120 is way enough then I’d wait for the 120. Much better than an electric vehicle with an extra petrol charger. Petrol charger i3 needs more maintenance and not as reliable compared to a 100% electric vehicle. Mine is the original i3 2014 and only has...

Final service visit of our maintenance plan

Yep, the BMW dealers want maintenance $$ for the EV i3. We've paid relatively expensive each year for maintenance. Brake fluids and not much else. The dealer even stopped updating the computer system even when I asked about it. Cabin filter done last year. Given that our EV BMW has been 100%...

Why does Hyundai have a better MPGe?

Guess use less heat and cooling than most others, also don't spend much time at high speed, only a couple of km @ 100kmh per day

Why does Hyundai have a better MPGe?

Our 2014 i3 EV has over the time 13kWh/100km That includes driving up the hill to the house 300m height from the city.

What kind of cell phone mount do you use while driving

We leave our cell phone in our pocket. No reason to attach it to the dash, everything of the phone can be used by the i3 electronic system and dashboard.

    I3s first drive

Response from our 2014 non-rex i3: Steering is good. Very sharp and excellent around the suburbs and city. Headlights are ok, but could be better. Hardly drive at night here so not a problem. Seats are very comfortable. What changes on the i3s seats? Battery mileage is all we need for regular...

    New member, charging question.

Hi Mick, If it is expensive to install the charger to your garage, are you able to park the i3 near to the house? Maybe start with the 30amp charger next to the house and later dig the trench and move the charger to the garage later, maybe near the end of summer/autumn. The REX gives the...

Will i3s wheels fit an i3 as the offsets seem to be the major difference

Lol, Jim. Anytime I visit the US, I regular see some vehicles with tyres wider than the fenders and no flares etc. Jeeps would be the worst, but have seen passenger cars the same. Here in Australia would be banned pretty quickly for the reasons you mention.
