Those who swapped in a 12V lithium - how are things going?

Next time you open the Battery Monitor app and access the graph, tap somewhere with your finger and slide back and forth. You will see the precise voltage readings in a little popup window

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

I have a power-port voltage reader plugged in and I can clearly see when it jumps up from 12.4 to 14.8 volts. The car does not have to be "on".

    Replace High Voltage Battery

How much are you realistically willing to pay for this? I'm not asking because I can give you a quote. I'm asking to see what your expectations are. This is something that many Dealers don't even want to do under warranty where BMW throws money at them. The last "We don't want to do it" price...

Repair of Carbon Reinforced Plastic (CRP) panel

Have the body shop source a used replacement panel in the same color. They are held on with clips.

Using range extender only for electric charge

You don't "get" anything to use a DC Fast Charger. You have to find one and then pay to use it. It charges a LOT faster. For your car it would probably charge 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes. The pic you posted is of a BMW-branded ESVE (charger) that you would use for L1 (120v) or L2...

Using range extender only for electric charge

You can easily see if you car has DC charging capability by opening the charging door and looking at the Port. If it just has the circle port as a the top of this pic, you do not. If it also has the additional "pill-shape" port under the circle, they you do.

Using range extender only for electric charge

Even if you could find some place to do it, you could probably buy TWO 2015 Rex models today for what you would pay for the conversion. It is not as simple as just getting the Range Extender and plugging it in.

    Ready & a/c problem

When you are driving, which MODE are you using? Comfort, ECO Pro or ECO Pro+ ? If you are using ECO Pro, Heating & A/C are reduced If you are using ECO Pro+ all Heating & A/C are turned off.

    Ready & a/c problem

are you sure you are not pressing the BRAKE pedal? Normally you need to press the BRAKE pedal to get the car to "Ready" mode so you can drive it.

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

When you open the doors, the DC-DC converter comes on and charges the 12v battery. It would normally time-out at around 15 minutes but if you closed a door and opened it again, the cycle repeats. With the car OFF and not in Drive mode, I can see how doing this over 2hrs could cause the car to...

12V battery step by step and preventing errors

Nope. I’ve installed this battery on my neighbors 2019 and the OEM terminal adapters fit perfectly. There is a vent hole at the rear but it needs to be drilled or reamed out to accommodate the original vent tube fitting.

Charging not showing up in myBMW app

that is false and misleading information. People have used random quotes "from the internet" for years to claim that the 2017 models only have 3G when actual owners such as eNate and myself can show otherwise. A lot of this nonsense seems to come from a software change from 2017 to 2018 where...

Charging not showing up in myBMW app

The car could still have an existing subscription from the previous owner. A Connected Drive/Remote Services subscription is for 1 year and follows the car, not the owner. But if that were the case, you should be able to see the Charging Info. I suspect the actual reason is because BMW has...

Front brake pads and rotors (replacement)

You may regret buying the "cheap stuff" as it may be advertised as fitting, but the pads will end up being too thick. This has been a common theme with others going this route. If you want stock, then buy OEM pads only. They should be made by JURID.

Couple of niggly problems, any electricians about! 12v socket problems

If the fuses blew, it was for a reason. If you replace the fuse(s) and they don't blow but the sockets still don't work, I would suspect wiring issue perhaps caused by rodents chewing on them someplace.
